As of October 1, 2024, UK-based private sellers can sell on eBay completely free! You won't pay any final value fees or regulatory operating fees when your items sell domestically. This makes eBay one of the most cost-effective platforms for casual sellers in the UK.
You'll still encounter fees if you list more than 300 items per month, add optional listing upgrades, or ship to international addresses.
Private sellers get 300 free listings each month. After that, each additional listing costs 35p. If you subscribe to an eBay Shop (£19.99/month), you'll get 400 free listings.
A 3% fee applies if you sell to buyers outside the UK. This is calculated on the total sale amount (item price + shipping + handling).
You can enhance your listings with upgrades like subtitles (£2), Gallery Plus (£2.50), or Promoted Listings (fee varies based on your settings). These are charged regardless of whether your item sells.
If you're a private seller located outside the UK, additional fees will apply:
12.8% of the total sale amount plus 30p per order. For items priced over £5,000, you'll pay 3% on the portion above £5,000.
Men's and Women's Trainers priced at £100+ benefit from reduced fees of 8% + 30p (instead of 12.8% + 30p).
An additional 0.42% of the total sale amount.
Business sellers on eBay UK face a different fee structure that includes final value fees and category-specific rates. Use the calculator above to estimate these fees for your business listings.
This guide is based on eBay UK's fee structure as of October 1, 2024. Fees are subject to change, so always check the official eBay website for the most current information.
